FAQs

Everyone is welcome to take part.

Whether you are a sports club, school, nursery, university, municipality, company, fitness studio or local initiative – any organisation that wants to get people moving can register an activity as part of the European Week of Sport.

The only requirement is that the activity takes place during the campaign period and has a clear connection to movement or physical activity. The campaign lives through many local activities – low-threshold, open and focused on the joy of movement.

Register your event

In general, all formats that encourage people to move are welcome. This can be an existing training session or a completely new activity created specifically for the campaign week. From group walks and taster sessions to action days or even a month dedicated to movement – everything is possible.

The European Week of Sport is built on local activities and decentralised participation. Small local events are explicitly encouraged. Every movement counts.

Yes, registering your activity as part of the European Week of Sport is completely free of charge. There are no participation fees. Campaign materials and support provided by the national coordination team from DTB are also free to use.

Yes. If you are planning several separate activities, you can register each one individually. This allows them to appear separately on the Germany-wide #BeActive map and makes them easier for people to find.

Register more activities

The #BeActive Night is one of the shared highlights of the European Week of Sport. On this day, activities take place simultaneously across Europe as a visible sign for more movement and physical activity.

The #BeActive Night takes place on the Saturday during the European Week of Sport and brings people across Europe into movement at the same time.

Organisations can shape their #BeActive Night flexibly – for example through open activities, taster sessions or special community programmes. Many events focus on trying out different activities together in a simple and accessible way.

Register a #BeActive Night

Activities can generally be registered at any time, including during the campaign period itself (23–30 September each year). This allows even short-notice or internal activities to become part of the campaign.

For publicly accessible activities, however, we recommend registering as early as possible. This gives enough time to promote the activity and publish it on the Germany-wide #BeActive map.
