#BeActive EU Sport Awards

Deutsche Beiträge bei den #BeActive EU Sport Awards
Sport at the Garden Fence
- 1st place at the #BeActive Awards 2021
During the COVID-19 pandemic, TSV Neuried created a creative way for children to stay active: sport activities right at the garden fence. Coaches organised outdoor training sessions while children could join in directly from their own gardens. This made movement possible even during the restrictions at the time. The initiative mainly targeted children up to the age of 14, but siblings, parents and neighbours often joined spontaneously as well – turning movement into a shared experience across the neighbourhood.
MTV Experience Days
- Application for the #BeActive EU Sport Awards 2025 in the category Inclusion
On 7 and 8 September 2024, Mombacher Turnverein organised the MTV Experience Days – a colourful weekend of movement for the whole family as part of the European Week of Sport (#BeActive). Around 300 coaches, families, children and guests came together to experience sport and show how inclusion and diversity can be lived through physical activity. A wide range of activities invited people to join in and turned the weekend into a lively meeting point for the whole community.
The event was organised in cooperation with the Rhineland-Palatinate Sports Federation and the DOSB programme “Integration through Sport”.
As part of the European Week of Sport, the MTV Experience Days reflected the message behind #BeActive: bringing people together through movement and making sport accessible to everyone.
#BeActive at Work – Health Weeks 2024
- Application for the #BeActive EU Sport Awards 2025 in the category Physical Activity
Under the motto “#BeActive at Work”, Bank1Saar expanded its existing health days into multi-week health weeks in 2024, integrating movement directly into everyday working life. The aim was to raise awareness for health and prevention while motivating as many employees as possible to take part. Activities were intentionally designed to be low-threshold and accessible, taking place both on-site and digitally. A key element were the “movement breaks” during lunch hours, organised by employees themselves – ranging from back fitness sessions to business yoga, complemented by digital impulses and inspiration.
The health weeks were received very positively and not only encouraged more movement, but also strengthened the sense of community within the company. Due to the positive feedback, regular follow-up activities were introduced afterwards. The example shows how companies can sustainably integrate movement into everyday working life with manageable effort.
