The website of the European Week of Sport has been redesigned with a clearer structure, simplified navigation and a stronger focus on movement and participation.
The European Week of Sport is an initiative of the European Commission and a call for more movement across Europe. Every year from 23–30 September, clubs, schools, municipalities, companies, fitness studios and many other organisations join under the motto #BeActive to encourage people to become active and bring movement into everyday life.
The new website brings together campaign information, events on the nationwide #BeActive map and opportunities to get involved in a clearer and more user-friendly way. Visitors can more easily discover activities, ways to get active and information about the campaign, while organisers receive quicker access to materials, support opportunities and registration information.
Event registration for the European Week of Sport 2026 will open on 08 June 2026. Afterwards, numerous activities from across Germany will once again become visible on the #BeActive map.
In 2025, the European Week of Sport celebrated its 10-year anniversary. In Germany, the campaign has been coordinated by the German Gymnastics Federation (DTB) since 2016 and has been supported at federal level from the very beginning. Since 2026, the campaign has been supported by the Federal Chancellery.
